Temperature controllers control temperature by taking an input from a temperature sensor such as a thermocouple or RTD, and providing an output to a control element in order to reach or maintain a required temperature or setpoint.
Eurotherm temperature controllers are recognised for high precision PID algorithms, which are embedded in the control strategy along with highly accurate inputs and outputs.
Precision PID ((Proportional, Integral, Derivative) control has the advantage over basic PID temperature control solutions which, although can save money, do not have the level of control and accuracy to consistently control temperature or react efficiently to unforeseen process events.
Precision PID temperature controllers however have built-in algorithms to accurately control temperature and reach setpoints with minimal overshoot during ramps, meaning process variables stabilise faster. Eurotherm products feature a ‘cutback’ algorithm which helps prevent overshoot, and application specific autotune to automatically set ideal parameters in the PID control loops.

Controllers from Eurotherm provide our world class excellence in control with clear, user friendly operator interfaces. Quick start codes; automatic help text; custom text messages, and an auto-tune that really works.
With the emphasis being on simplicity and available in four standard formats the 3200 range provides precise temperature control with a host of options.
A simple ‘QuickStart’ code is used to configure all of the essential functions required to control your process and, if preferred, this can be preset by Eurotherm to your requirements. When accessing the controller HMI you will find that every parameter is accompanied by a scrolling text message to describe its function.
The 3200 has a host of advanced features including heater failure detection, timer, setpoint programmer and a recipe feature that is unique in this class of product. All of these features can be configured with an extremely simple to use PC wizard configuration tool. Configurations can be saved to file and reused or modified to suit other applications in the future.
The 3508 and 3504 offer much more than temperature control – advanced features and options make them capable of small machine control. They provide flexible I/O options to control and measure a multitude of processes – temperature, potential, humidity, flow, pressure, level, viscosity, additive dosing and many more. Specialist function blocks, recipe selection, setpoint programmers, maths, logic, timer functions and flexible communication options are just a few examples of what makes these instruments a key part of a total process solution.
We combined our extensive expertise in absolute data security and world class control to bring you the best in recording and control in a space-saving, small box with a superb full colour display and it is called the nanodac™ recorder/controller. Add to this an absolute commitment to technological innovation, constant reinvestment in research and development, and a team of engineering oriented salesmen who understand your process requirements.
The nanodac recorder/controller offers the ultimate in graphical recording combined with PID control and setpoint programs for a box of its size. The compact ¼ DIN panel mount unit offers four high accuracy universal inputs for data recording and PID control. This secure data recording device with accurate control is enhanced by a full colour, ¼ VGA, 320 x 240 pixel display to bring a crystal clear operator interface to even the smallest of machines.
Every 2000 Series controller can be tailored to provide the control solution you need. Modular design and easy, onsite configuration matches application requirements and gives you a temperature and process control solution that’s ready to run the first time you switch it on. The 2000 Series provides control strategies ranging from simple ON/OFF to PID with advanced overshoot protection, providing the best control for the widest range of applications including valve positioning. Within the 2000 Series there is also the 2500 Modular Controller and the 2604/2704 Controllers which, with their enhanced functionality and multiloop capability, offer a powerful addition to the range. Please consult Eurotherm sales for more information on these products.
Designed to integrate seamlessly with programmable logic controllers, and other supervisory control and monitoring systems, the Eurotherm Mini8® controller offers a compact high performance solution at an affordable cost. The Mini8 controller offers modularity both in terms of hardware and software functions. Its four plug-in slots can accommodate a variety of IO modules, and its feature set is ranged to suit simple multi-loop and data acquisition applications up to complex strategies including setpoint programming, mathematical and logical operations.
The Mini8 controller can multi-drop on either serial, fieldbus or Ethernet and offers a real cost effective alternative to performing analogue measurement or control loops in a PLC. By implementing these functions in the Mini8 controller the PLC hardware cost is reduced and is relieved of the extra processing burden of analogue control, often improving its digital performance or enabling a lower specification processor to be used.
